Of all the varieties of DART riders, one is particularly easy to spot — the readers, clasping books and magazines and newspapers and smart phones.
Now comes a group of opportunistic poets, recognizing a captive audience when they see one. Starting this week, they’re publishing 80 poems — as ads in the buses. Riders will likely see a wide variety of the poems, as DART’s buses are rotated among routes.
“Everyone just jumped in and thought this was a wonderful idea,” organizer Tess Durkin-Hogan told The Des Moines Register. “They all just rallied around it.”
