Good morning, riders.
You may soon be asked to fill out a survey on how you use DART, if you haven’t already. DART has had consultants on the buses since last weekend handing out surveys asking riders for information such as the origin and destination of their trips. They’ll be on the buses through this week and possibly into the next.
The results will be used as part of the big-picture planning study that will ultimately help DART’s planners create a sort of road map for growing DART’s service in the next five, 10 and 25 years. Soon you’ll be invited to sit down at the proverbial planning table with staff and consultants to help figure out where Greater Des Moines needs public transit, and not just where it has always been.
For now, we’re in the data-collecting phase, hence the surveys. It may sound boring, but it’s leading up to developing a 10,000 foot view of what public transit should look like in Greater Des Moines.
